The 22-year-old scored either side of the new year as he got his first two goals for the Glamour Boys since his move from Bloemfontein Celtic, however, a groin injury hampered his progress and ruled him out for almost all of their games this month.
Now though, with Amakhosi looking to leapfrog their bitter rivals and try to close the gap on Mamelodi Sundowns, Steve Komphela has some good news regarding Zuma’s fitness, with the club’s official website saying that he’s ‘making a return to training this week’.
Chiefs’ first team physiotherapist, Dave Milner, explained: “He has shrugged off the groin strain that sidelined him for the past three weeks.”
Meanwhile, on the topic of Kabelo Mahlasela’s long-term knee injury, Milner said, “He is jogging on the field and will do so for the next two to three weeks before joining his teammates at training.”
Chiefs and Pirates do battle at 15h30 on Saturday afternoon in one of the most critical Soweto derbies in recent years.
