Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Mike Mangena has explained what he thinks Kaizer Chiefs need to do today to win the Soweto Derby.
Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will lock horns once again in the Carling Black Label Cup and Mangena has said that he believes the team needs to target Pirates’ questionable defence, looking to the example of their 4-1 loss to SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup.
“Pirates struggled last season. SuperSport United proved beyond reasonable doubt that Pirates are vulnerable at the back, “he told Soccer Laduma. “And all Chiefs need to do is capitalise on that.”
The former Bush Bucs man went on to explain what Chiefs need to do in order to expose the Buccaneers at the back.
“Chiefs must just push more players, they just need to commit more players when going forward,” he added. “They must catch them on the counter and isolate the centre backs. If I was the coach, I would just push more players forward, get them to get into one-on-one situations and that’s when they’re going to crack. SuperSport proved this.”
