Word reaching the Siya crew is that Papi Zothwane has once again failed to pitch up for training at Moroka Swallows.
Soccer-Laduma reported that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder was expected to start training with the Birds last week Tuesday, although he failed to report to the club.
He subsequently informed Swallows that he would begin his trial at the club today (Monday), however once again failed to show up.
“I was expecting Zothwane at training today, but he didn’t come. I can’t worry myself about him, I have to worry about the players that are here. The preseason is in full swing and I have to make sure that my players are ready for the new season,” Swallows coach Zeca Marques told the Siya crew.
When asked if Zothwane would be allowed to to train with the team, should he eventually turn up, Marques would not comment.
“All I can say is that I want to finalise my squad for the season in the next two weeks,” added Marques.
Meanwhile, Marques confirmed to the Siya crew that the Birds have signed exciting young midfielder Tswarelo Bereng, from United FC.
“We have signed him on a two-year deal with an option for a third. He is a talented boy and I’m looking forward to working with him,” concluded Marques.
