The Zimbabwean senior national team has issued an update on the injury situation of Khama Billiat ahead of this weekend's match.
There have been concerns over the Kaizer Chiefs star’s readiness for his national team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on Sunday, with reports from Zimbabwe indicating that the former Mamelodi Sundowns man has been struggling with a hamstring injury.
However, Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzambwa has confirmed through the Zimbabwean media that Billiat has been cleared by the medical team to play.
“Our preparations went on very well, except that we had Khama Billiat nursing an injury, but he is now fine. He trained well for the whole session and we look forward to a good game,” Chidzambwa reportedly told Zimbabwean media.
With Chiefs set for a trip to the Mother City after the FIFA international break for their Absa Premiership match against Cape Town City on September 15, Giovanni Solinas and the team will hope that Billiat returns injury-free to be available to help the Soweto giants as they seek their first league win of the season.
