A local agent has commented on the appointment of a former MTN8 cup-winning coach at one of the PSL clubs, following the recent technical team changes during the FIFA international break.
After a disappointing start to the 2021/22 season with only two wins from seven matches, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have appointed former Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques as their new head coach to replace Phuthi Mohafe.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the Marques’ representative Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi explained how the decision to get the experienced mentor out of the football wilderness was reached.
“On behalf of Rush Hour Sports Management, I would like to take this opportunity to thank TTM for the opportunity that they have given to coach Zeca Marques to lead the team going forward. We thank the club president Masala Mulaudzi for the opportunity that he has given the coach and for listening to us when we brought it to his attention that the coach was available and keen on their exciting project,” said Mulovhedzi.
“Also, we would like to thank TTM’s team manager Azwihangwisi Phasha for the way he made things easy for the deal to go through. He is one of the sharpest minds in football management despite his young age, and he has a bright future in the game. We agreed on a two-year contract with the club for the coach to lead the team this season. The coach is happy, and as we speak, he is on his way to Venda,” added the intermediary.
“I am very happy for this deal because it is not the first time that I have facilitated a deal for coach Marques who is very experienced in the game and knowledgeable. I once clinched a deal for him to join Black Leopards and he did well there. All what this deal means to me is that impossible is nothing and as a boy from Venda I couldn’t have asked for more and I would this to serve as a motivation to young and upcoming agents in our industry. They must dream big and work hard. The offer that the coach received was too good to turn down and he didn’t think twice about relocating from Johannesburg to Limpopo for this project,” he concluded.
