Santos head coach, Zeca Marques, is looking to improve his coaching abilities by spending time with Portuguese giants, Porto, in Portugal.
The former PSL champions finished 11th in the National First Division this season after a tough campaign, however, it is thought that they have faith in Marques to help turn the situation around at the club.
Now, prior to Santos’ pre-season camp in the coming weeks, Marques is spending some time with Porto in Europe as he attempts to pick up some knowledge that could benefit the Team of Choice going forward.
Marques, formerly of Moroka Swallows, was actually born in Porto in 1961, but moved to South Africa at a young age before going into coaching in the early 2000s.
Santos have spent the last four seasons in South Africa’s second tier, and having won the biggest trophy in the country back in 2001/02, they will be hoping for a return to the big time in the near future.
