Former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Zane Moosa, believes that Keagan Dolly could still earn a move abroad despite picking up a hamstring injury.
Dolly succumbed to an injury during the South African Under 23s match against Iraq at the Olympic games and will be out of action until after the season gets underway. However, amidst rumours of a move abroad for the midfielder, Moosa has said that clubs will not be hesitant to secure his signature even though he isn’t fit.
“You can look at (Bongani) Zungu, who had a worse injury that didn’t affect his move to Portugal,” he told Soccer Laduma. “He (Dolly) is also spoiled for choice because there seem to be a number of teams from different countries interested in him. They saw how he stood out, so he deserves the move overseas and now would be the right time, because he’s still young. He’s good enough and he’s ready to go. He can make a big name for himself there.”
Moosa added that the injury is not too serious and won’t keep the former Ajax Cape Town out of action for too long.
“I don’t think it (Dolly’s injury) will have a major impact because a hamstring is a common injury in football and it’s normally not a serious injury. The recovery is usually three to four, worst case six weeks. And he’s still young.”
