Despite being ‘unveiled’ by a club in Cyprus last month, Zambian striker Chitiya Mususu could make his DStv Premiership debut this evening.
Last month, Zambian media reported that the striker was in Cyprus to complete a move to a Cypriot outfit, Dumlupinar TSK. The player was even unveiled on the club’s Instagram account.
However, in a turn of events, the burly striker was part of 13 new players unveiled by DStv Premiership outfit TS Galaxy last week.
The latest news regarding the 25-year-old striker is that he has obtained his work permit and is eligible to make his debut for the Rockets as they take on AmaZulu at the Mbombela stadium on Wednesday.
Having started life in the top flight with a point, coach Dan Malesela will be hoping to get one over Usuthu and could give the Zambian his first run out in Galaxy colours.
“I’m happy to have reinforcements. We must have a headache of selection as opposed to have it the easy way in our selection. When people are having it easy and then there is no pressure. If there is pressure, people are thinking about their positions. Everyone knows that he has to be on his toes,” Malesela told the club’s website regarding his new forward.
Mususu, who has been capped twice at senior level for the Zambia national team, formed an important part of the Zanaco side that reached the quarterfinal of the CAF Confederations Cup last season, and will be hoping to hit the ground running in the PSL.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30.
