The Siya crew can reveal that Bloemfontein Celtic have exercised the two-year option they had on Wayde Jooste’s contract.
The midfield protégé was promoted from the club’s junior ranks at the beginning of the season and, despite the fact that he has not tasted regular time, head coach, Ernst Middendorp, is said to be happy with the way he is progressing.
Born in Port Elizabeth, a bright future in the game has been predicted for the 21-year-old, who has also previously spent some time in Bay United’s junior structures. He will also be encouraged that he was on the bench in the club’s last three games.
Jooste was not available for comment at the time of writing, but shared his delight on his Facebook page on Tuesday with this status update, “So proud 2 say the club has exercised my 2 year option in my contract! Happy 2 b part of such a great club...still here 4 another 2 years hela yalo siwe! #11.”
