You Choose Your World Cup Team Of The Week

The knockout stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia have been action packed on the field of play where we have seen the VAR system come into play on various occasions once again. 
 
On Wednesday, June 27, Korea Republic ended Germany's hopes of retaining their title and progressing further to the knockout stages after a 2-0 win. Brazil walked away with a 2-0 win against Serbia, while Switzerland and Costa Rica were held in a 2-all draw. Sweden pulled off all the stops, beating Mexico 3-0. 
 
On Thursday, June 28, Poland beat Japan by a goal-to-nil, Colombia edged Senegal with a 1-0 win, Belgium also walked away with a 1-0 victory against England, and Tunisia beat Panama 2-1. 
 
On Saturday, June 30, France knocked Argentina out of the World Cup after a 4-3 victory, and Uruguay beat Portugal 2-1. 
 
On Sunday, July 1, Spain took on hosts Russia where both sides were locked in a 1-all draw. Russia managed to advance on penalties after a 4-3 win. Croatia and Denmark were also locked on a 1-all scoreline, where a penalty shootout saw Croatia win, 3-2.
