You Choose The Team Of The Week

Soccer Laduma’s ‘Team of the Week’ is a feature in each and every Soccer Laduma edition, highlighting the top performers from the Premier Soccer League clubs.

Selections are based on the performances of players in round 23 and 24 of the Absa Premiership this past weekend, as well as a CAF Champions League tie.

University of Pretoria eased past Maritzburg United by four goals to two on Saturday evening at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Deolin Mekoa and Philani Zulu were the scorers for the relegation-threatened home side. However, a brace from Lennox Bacela and one goal each from Mpho Maruping and Atusaye Nyondo earned Tuks the three points.

Orlando Pirates brushed aside a stubborn Free State Stars team by a solitary goal on Saturday evening. It was Tendai Ndoro's eighth minute goal that earned Bucs the victory.

Supersport United and Chippa United played out to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Joseph Molangoane opened the scoring on the day in the 16th minute, and Kingston Nkhatha equalised for Matsatsantsa just before halftime from the penalty spot.

Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows played out to a stalemate at the Doctor Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Free State derby. Both teams failed to create clear-cut chances and looked set to play for a draw.

Mamelodi Sundowns lost by a single goal to AS Vita in the 1st leg of the CAF Champions League on Sunday afternoon. The home side stole the match in referee's optional time through Kule Mbombo.

The Soccer Laduma journos are currently in deliberation over this week’s selections. In the meantime we want to hear from you as to who you think should be in the Soccer Laduma ‘Team of the Week’.

Every Monday you will get the chance to post your ‘Team of the Week’. See how close you get to the one which will appear in the new Soccer Laduma on Wednesday.
