You Choose The Team Of The Week

Soccer Laduma’s ‘Team of the Week’ is a feature in each and every Soccer Laduma edition, highlighting the top performers from the Premier Soccer League clubs.
 
Selections are based on the performances of players in the past weekend's only Absa Premiership fixture as well as the 2015 edition of the MTN8 final.
 
Orlando Pirates failed to claim maximum points in their Absa Premiership encounter against the unbeaten Mpumalanga Black Aces on Friday night at Orlando Stadium. Bafana Bafana midfielder Mpho Makola drew first blood for the Buccaneers in the 20th minute but former Bucs striker Cillons Mbesuma equalised for AmaZayoni on the stroke of halftime. The share of spoils sees Eric Tinkler’s side in ninth spot while Muhsin Ertugral's charges also failed to reclaim top spot and are now in fifth spot.  
 
Ajax Cape Town were crowned as the 2015 MTN8 champions following a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Urban Warriors dominated the Amakhosi throughout the entire first half, and continued till the start of the second stanza until they were awarded a spot kick in the 56th minute after Erick Mathoho was adjudged to have pulled down Nathan Paulse in the penalty area. Paulse who was a handful for Chiefs’ backline made no mistake as his penalty proved to be the difference between the two sides to hand Roger de Sa and his young guns their first piece of silverware since 2009, and equally buried the disappointment of losing out in the Nedbank Cup final at the same venue against Mamelodi Sundowns last season.
