Cape Town City secured a 1-0 win against Golden Arrows. Chippa United stunned SuperSport United with a 3-0 thumping. Orlando Pirates were held to a lacklustre 0-0 draw by Ajax Cape Town. Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars also played out to a 0-0 draw in the Free State derby. The relegation battle between Baroka FC and Highlands Park ended in a 0-0 draw.
On Saturday, May 20, the Nedbank Cup semi-final between Chippa United and SuperSport United got underway and the two sides were locked in a 0-0 stalemate until the match was forced into a penalty shootout that was dominated by Matsatsantsa goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, to send his side through to the final.
On Sunday, May 21, Orlando Pirates travelled to Durban as they faced off against Golden Arrows in the other Nedbank Cup semi-final. The Buccaneers secured a 1-0 win courtesy of Abbubaker Mobara and will meet SuperSport United in the final.
