Free State Stars have welcomed Mthokozisi Yende to their headquarters in Bethlehem. Yende is one of the players that have reported to the club, as they prepare for their trip to China.
Ea Lla Koto have been invited to the Shanghai International Football tournament, as part of their preparations for next season, and according to a source close to Stars, Yende joined the Stars squad on their return to training after a short break.
“The guy you are asking about is here. He arrived with all the other players this week. He is one of the players that are expected to leave for China with the team,” a Soocer-Laduma source revealed.
It was recently revealed by the Siya crew that Yende has been linked with a move to Stars, with the 28-year-old player having spent the 2012/13 season on loan with Maritzburg, from Kaizer Chiefs. However, Maritzburg released the player at the end of his loan deal.
The Siya crew has since been informed that Yende has discussed terms with the club and it is believed that the parties have agreed to a deal in principle.
On contacting the club’s general manager, Rantsi Mokoena, for comment, he dismissed the news. “No, he has not yet (signed). He is not on trial,” said Mokoena.
The club has already added Maluti FET College striker Lucky Mokoena to the squad for next season, although the news of his signing is still being kept under wraps.
