Yakubu Mohammed is currently training with Maritzburg United, where he is aiming to secure a PSL contract.
The hit-man appeared to be on the verge of joining Orlando Pirates, before the deal later fell through, and is now being assessed by coach Ernst Middendorp and his technical team.
Maritzburg have confirmed that Mohammed is training with the team, however have indicated that no decision on his future has been made as of yet.
United’s Commercial Manager, Younus Kadodia, explained that they will be meeting with the Chairman later today, where Mohammed’s future could be discussed.
Kadodia, told the Siya crew, “I haven’t heard anything about this move. We’re meeting later on today with the Chairman (Farouk Kadodia) so we might know more by then.”
However, the player’s representative has indicated otherwise, stating that terms between the player and the club have been agreed to. The agent said, “A deal has been signed and he will join Maritzburg.”
Although there are conflicting reports regarding the striker’s proposed move to Maritzburg, Soccer-Laduma can confirm that he is being assessed by Middendorp and that an official decision could be made by the club before the end of the week.
