Mohammed, who is a free agent, had his contract cancelled by the Team of Choice at the end of last season after the two parties reached a mutual consent.
The 24-year-old striker was signed by Maritzburg at the beginning of the 2013/14 campaign, and hopes were high he would deliver plenty of goals in the PSL.
He arrived in Pietermaritzburg with a big reputation after he had plundered 14 goals for Ashanti Gold in the Glo Premier League, however he failed to settle at United and struggled to hit the back of the net.
Earlier, there were rumours that Mohammed would go back to his former club, Ashanti Gold, but the latest news reaching the crew is that he is infact set to join Hearts.
