Wits skipper, Sibusiso Vilakazi should feel on the top of the world currently, following Wednesday night’s performance against Platinum Stars where the Students edged out Dikwena 1-0, but the Clever Boys are not getting carried away.
The Students are currently in third place with 47 points, and trail league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, by eight points with two games in hand.
Though the spotlight has been directed on Chiefs and Sundowns, Wits have quietly gone about their business accumulating points, and one of the revelations of the season for the Clever Boys, has been Sibusiso Vilakazi.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, the 24-year-old highlighted that the players are focused on delivering and achieving the club's ambitions.
“The victory over Stars was a good one, it has kept us going, but we need to be professional and keep the momentum as players, ” he said.
The midfielder also pointed out that winning a cup is part of the players' ambitions, and they will go all out to ensure they achieve the goal.
'Vila' also pointed out his individual contribution to the Clever Boys.
“Every season I compare my performances to see where I have improved. This season I have focused on my goal scoring, but when I don’t score, it’s all about helping my teammates. It’s a combination of scoring and playing that has improved my performances,” the star concluded.
