PSL side, Wits, have moved to extend the contract of midfielder Papy Faty, after an impressive first season in Mzansi.
The Burundian international made the move to Braamfontein at the beginning of last season, scoring six goals in all competitions for Clive Barker’s side as they secured a fourth place finish on the Absa Premiership log.
Now, with Barker having been replaced by Gavin Hunt at the helm of the Clever Boys, it seems that the new coach is also eager to make use of the 22-year-old.
The PSL’s official Twitter account confirmed the news of Faty’s extension, saying, “Bidvest Wits have extended the contract of their Burundi international midfielder Papy Faty.”
It is believed that there will be a number of new faces at Wits by the time the 2013/14 season comes around in a few months time, with a few of the club’s fringe players likely to move on.
However, with the news of his new contract it appears that Faty has a bright future at the club and will remain there for the foreseeable future.
