Soccer-Laduma wishes Thulani Serero well ahead of Ajax Amsterdam’s opening UEFA Champions League clash against La Liga champions, Barcelona.
Serero, who was released from the national team camp ahead of Bafana Bafana’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Botswana, had asked not to be played in fear of getting injured, after feeling a tight muscle in his groin.
Serero underwent an MRI scan upon his return to Ajax, which proved that he was carrying an injury to as abdominal muscle.
However, Serero went on to feature for his club in their Eredivisie match and scored the first goal of the game, to help Ajax to a 2-1 win over PEC Zwolle, who are currently the Eredivisie log leaders.
Cream, as he is affectionately known, featured for Ajax in last season’s UEFA Champions League group match against Real Madrid.
Serero is likely to get the opportunity to strut his stuff against some of the best players in the world this evening, when Ajax take on Barcelona in their opening group stage match against arguably the best team in the world.
Send Thulani Serero your well wishes below…
