Following the news that defenders, Siyabonga Sangweni and Tsepo Masilela, have pulled out of the Bafana Bafana squad due to injury, it has now been revealed that Ronwen Williams has also been ruled out.
Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund, named Williams as a non-playing member of his squad during a press conference last week, revealing that he wanted to give the youngster a feel of how things were inside a national team camp.
However, it has now been confirmed that Williams will no longer be attending the camp after seemingly picking up a slight injury during his side’s CAF Confederations Cup draw with Luanda this weekend.
Tebogo Langerman was called up to replace Masilela, and it is thought that Erick Mathoho will come in for Sangweni, however due to the fact that Williams was a non-playing member of the squad there is no reason to call up a replacement.
The three goalkeepers in Igesund’s Bafana squad remain Itumeleng Khune, Senzo Meyiwa and Wayne Sandilands.
