Ronwen Williams, who has been named as the ABSA Premiership Young Player of the Season, says that he is learning from Kaizer Chiefs captain and shot-stopper, Itumeleng Khune.
The SuperSport United youngster was handed his award on Sunday at the PSL’s end of season awards ceremony, held at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City, Johannesburg.
The former Amajita goalkeeper told Soccer-Laduma that he is thankful for his award, having competed against the likes of Tsepo Gumede and Bongani Zungu.
“I am so grateful for the award. I had good players that I was competing with in Tsepo Gumede and Bongani Zungu. They are both good and I am happy that I competed with top players,” explained the keeper.
Williams added that he has learnt a lot from Khune and continues to do so. He said, “But I also have to mention that I am learning a lot from Itumeleng Khune.
“He hasn't just done well for Chiefs but for Bafana Bafana as well. He is a top goalkeeper and being around him helps all of us improve our game."
