Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande, believes his side need to tighten up their defence as they look to defend their Absa Premiership crown.
The Amakhosi only conceded 14 goals in the league last season, the least of any team in the PSL. However at the end of last season they lost centre back and captain, Tefu Mashamaite, who played every single minute in the league last season.
Siyanda Xulu has been brought in to fill the gap and Katsande has noted that if Chiefs want to defend their title they will have to make sure they keep things tight at the back.
“I think we just need to work on our defence. We need to make sure we concede nothing in defence and also score. If you look at how we play, we score goals so we just need to focus on our defence,” Katsande said.
The Amakhosi defence will be put to the test later today when they play SuperSport United, a team packed with attacking talent.
