Another Chiefs Loss No Option For Katsande
Willard Katsande says that Kaizer Chiefs must win all their remaining league games if they’re going to stand any shot at winning the Absa Premiership title.
The Zimbabwean has played more minutes than any other Amakhosi player this season and will have been hoping to get his hands on a trophy after recently committing to a new long-term deal at the club.
However, after dropping out of the Nedbank Cup this weekend, Chiefs are left with only the league to play for and there are not best placed when it comes to rivals such as tonight’s opponents, Cape Town City.
Steve Komphela’s side face City this evening at Cape Town Stadium and anything less than a victory would rule them out of contention for the title according to their feisty midfield general.
He told the club’s official website, “We have no choice but to win all our remaining games. We lost in the Nedbank Cup game against SuperSport United on Saturday, and because it was a cup game, plus going into penalties, meant it could go either way.”
“We went straight back to the drawing board after the game on Saturday. We speak in one voice, and that’s winning all the remaining six games of the league. We know City very well after playing them twice this season. They are a counter-attacking team and in that case, it means we have to be disciplined to guard against their breaks.
“We are left with six games. We have to believe in ourselves.”
City host Chiefs at 19h30 this evening.
