Kaizer Chiefs’ lack of ruthlessness in front of goal in their mid-week fixture against Ajax Cape Town has not troubled midfield strongman Willard Katsande heading into this Saturday’s Soweto derby.
Amakhosi walked away with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Urban Warriors however, they had numerous opportunities to bury the Cape Town-based side and increase their tally. The lack of clinical finishing and goal-scoring against Ajax will not have a bearing in the match against Orlando Pirates, according to the 28-year-old Zimbabwean who will be facing the most prolific striking combination in the league in both Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus.
“It’s a team thing we are playing well as a team which is the most important thing. We are not scoring as often but what matters is that we are getting the results,” Katsande told members of the media.
“We have not been fortunate enough to get lots of goals but we are working hard. The lack of goals won’t be an issue against Pirates. In the derby form goes out the window and on the day anything can happen,” concluded the Zimbabwean international.
