The Forgotten Six: Will They Play A Part?

With Mamelodi Sundowns continuing on their challenge to win the Absa Premiership title this season, Soccer Laduma takes a look at six of the players who have not played any part in the team’s past five encounters.

Jeremy Brockie:

Brockie was heavily linked with a move away from the Brazilians in the January transfer window, although nothing materialised for the player, despite sources indicating that Masandawana were looking to offload the player.

However, Brockie has not been involved in the Brazilians’ last five Absa Premiership league encounters.

Aubrey Ngoma:

As reported previously by the Siya crew, Ngoma was on the verge of completing a loan move to Maritzburg United in last day of the January transfer window, however, the deal fell through in the final hours.

Jose Ali Meza:

Sources have indicated that Meza is being linked with an exit from Sundowns, with the Venezuelan not making a single appearance in Masandawana’s past five league fixtures.

Oupa Manyisa:

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder has also not played any part in the Brazilians’ past five league encounters.

Thela Ngobeni:

Ngobeni was heavily linked with a move away from Sundowns in the January transfer window, however, nothing materialised and the goalkeeper has still not made a single league appearance for Masandawana all season.

Lucky Mohomi:

Mohomi was on the verge of completing a move to SuperSport United in the January transfer window, however, the deal fell through on the final day. The midfielder has made no appearances in the league for Sundowns so far this season.

With several players out of favour at Sundowns, it remains to be seen whether the aforementioned players will have in any part in the rest of the Brazilians’ title challenge this season.
