When William Twala signed for Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday, he was expected to wear the number seven jersey.
However, on Sunday when he made his debut against Bloemfontein Celtic as a substitute, he came out wearing jersey number 29.
A Soccer Laduma source close to the club told the Siya crew that Twala didn't want to use the number seven because he didn't want to put pressure on himself.
"It's true jersey number seven was proposed to be his jersey, but after looking at its history at the club, he decided the he would rather use jersey 29 and avoid the pressure of comparing him to the players who have worn it in the past - like Kaizer Motaung Jnr and Katlego Mphela," said the source.
"That's the main reason behind him not wearing it," the source said.
