There’s been a delay to Swallows’ major announcement on Thursday in Johannesburg, which has since been explained by the club’s chairman.
David Mogashoa has confirmed to the Siya crew that their big launch to reveal their new sponsor, understood to be Telkom, has been pushed back by several days, though it will still go ahead once the reason for the wait is being dealt with.
“Yes, we are no longer having our press conference because of minor technical issues, but we are not cancelling the announcement only postponing it by a week or so. We will call another press conference in due course,” he said.
Swallows, who returned to the topflight this season following a four year hiatus, have been without a partner for some time.
Bahwiti, which is currently displayed on their kit, is a company owned by Mogashoa and not a sponsor – it’s expected that Telkom will replace that branding on the jersey.
This new partnership will give the Dube Birds a much needed financial boost and may very well be crucial to their survival in the DStv Premiership.
