Bidvest Wits playmaker Sibusiso Vilakazi remains on Kaizer Chiefs’ wish list at the end of the season, for more than one reason.
The Glamour Boys have endured a difficult season, losing in two cup finals and being eliminated from the CAF Champions League, as well as struggling to keep pace with the Clever Boys and Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL.
Although Coach Steve Komphela has taken a lot of the blame, the fans have also been disappointed with the commitment shown by some of the players on the field.
Wits have been reluctant to sell Vilakazi to another team in the PSL, but Chiefs may try and force their hand this time around as they look to appease the fans, who have become increasingly frustrated in recent weeks.
The signing of Vilakazi could solve a real problem that the Amakhosi have had this season and that is the quality in the final third.
However, landing his signature will not be easy as he will not come cheap and, if Wits do decide to consider local bids, Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are likely to engage in a bidding war with Chiefs.
Vilakazi has not had the best of times in recent months, having started in just three league games since their match against Chippa United in early January.
During that time he has made six appearances from the bench, before suffering a knee injury in the CAF Confederation Cup which put him on the sidelines.
Where would you advise Vilakazi to go if he leaves the Clever Boys?
