At the start of every season each club in the Premier Soccer League has to tell the league which stadium will be their primary venue for their games in that season, and they are also allowed to select an alternative venue in case they want to play games there for whatever reason.
In total, 14 different stadiums around the country were named as primary venues for the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season, with the largest holding 87,436 fans and the smallest able to welcome 4,800 at full capacity - numbers all confirmed by the PSL.
With Baroka FC and Polokwane City sharing the Old Peter Mokaba, and Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United using Lucas Moripe Stadium, the number of primary venues is 14 rather than 16, and 12 of the clubs took the decision to name an alternative venue.
