The Relegation Battle – Who Can Go Down?

While there are three main teams embroiled in this season’s relegation battle, only six points separate 15th place from 7th place, and it’s going to be a tight end to the season.

Check out each team’s remaining fixtures in the gallery above

Platinum Stars find themselves in a difficult situation at present, especially given Ajax Cape Town’s win over Bidvest Wits, and the fact that they are rooted to the bottom and six points behind the Urban Warriors, would suggest that they’re living on borrowed time in the top-flight. But it’s not mathematically over for them yet.

Meanwhile, Ajax – on 27 points – sit one point behind struggling SuperSport United, who are only two points behind Polokwane City. Golden Arrows are in 12th on 31 points, while AmaZulu and Wits sit above them on 32.

All of the bottom six clubs have 12 points left to play for before the season comes to an end, and some of them will have to face each other in their battle to stay in the league. Though Dikwena could lose their battle soon, the playoff spot is due to go right down to the wire.

As things stand:
10. Wits - 32
11. AmaZulu - 32
12. Arrows - 31
13. Polokwane - 30
14. SuperSport - 28
15. Ajax - 27
16. Platinum Stars – 21

Right now there is everything to play for in the bottom half of the Absa Premiership table, with several teams just a couple of bad results away from being really dragged into the quagmire.

Who do you think will go down and end up in the relegation play-offs?
