Official: The Nine Alternate Absa Premiership Venues
You might know which stadiums your favourite Absa Premiership clubs play at as their first choice, but do you know which venues are registered as their official alternative stadiums? Soccer Laduma found out.
Take a look at each club’s alternative venue – and the official capacity – in the gallery above
The beginning of every Premier Soccer League season requires each PSL club to inform the league which stadiums will be their primary and alternate venues for their home games over the course of that campaign – their primary selection is where the bulk of their matches will be played, while an alternative one can be named in case they want to play games elsewhere for whatever reason.
Having previously looked at the 14 different stadiums named as primary venues for the 2018/19, now it’s time to take a glance at the nine alternate stadiums that were selected by the 16 teams in South Africa’s top-flight…
The largest of the secondary venues, FNB Stadium, has the capacity to seat 87,436 fans, while the smallest, in KwaZulu-Natal, fitting 6.750 as confirmed by the PSL.
While Baroka, Leopards and Polokwane all named the New Peter Mokaba Stadium as their secondary venue and AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs use Moses Mabhida Stadium, the likes of Bidvest Wits, Free State Stars, Highlands Park and Maritzburg United all decided that their primary stadia would be their only stadia.
Which of these secondary stadium choices is your favourite?
