What Do Sundowns Need To Win The League?

Mamelodi Sundowns will be able to extend their lead at the top to six points, should they collect a win in their upcoming catch-up fixture.

Sundowns will host Golden Arrows tomorrow, April 17, as they look to catch up with the rest of the teams in the Absa Premiership.

Should the Brazilians be able to claim maximum points, Masandawana will extend their lead at the top to six points.

Sundowns in first place currently have a three-point advantage over second-placed Orlando Pirates.

Should Sundowns be able to secure a six-point cushion over Pirates tomorrow if they beat Golden Arrows, the Brazilians will need just one more win and a draw in order to go all the way to win the Absa Premiership title.

In total, Sundowns need just seven points out of their upcoming four league fixtures to be crowned champions of the competition.

However, the Brazilians may even be gifted with more comfort, if Pirates drop any points in their upcoming three fixtures.

Sundowns will face Arrows, Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein for their final encounters.

As things stand, the league title may only be decided once Sundowns have reached 59 points.
