How Ajax Can Use Chiefs To Survive In The Absa Prem
What Ajax Cape Town Need To Do To Avoid Going To The Relegation Play Offs
Ajax Cape Town will have one final shot this weekend to battle for survival when they face Kaizer Chiefs at the Cape Town Stadium.
Platinum Stars was recently automatically relegated from the Absa Premiership after being officially unable to reach more than 24 points this season.
The Urban Warriors will need to make sure that they clinch all three points in their last league encounter, in order to be hopeful that they can avoid going to the relegation play-offs.
However, this is not all. Ajax will be keeping a close eye on both Polokwane City and SuperSport United, who will be in action against Chippa United and Baroka FC respectively on the same day.
If Ajax win their clash against Chiefs and either SuperSport or Polokwane secure a draw in their respective fixtures, the decision will then go down to goal difference, with the Urban Warriors then needing to have scored at least three goals on the final day in order for the decision to favour the Cape Town-based club.
However, win for Polokwane, and SuperSport over Baroka will take Ajax joint with Baroka on 34 points (should they beat Chiefs), with the outcome set to be determined on goal difference between the two.
In addition, if either SuperSport or Polokwane lose on the day, Ajax will move safely above either team, should they beat Chiefs.
Ajax are currently 15th place on the league standings, although could go up to 12th place if the results favour them on the day.
