Weekend Report For The Bafana Boss

Soccer-Laduma has tracked the progress of the current players abroad who are in or close to the Bafana Bafana set-up, and put together our report from recent action for the Bafana boss.

All eyes were on Thulani Serero, who played a key role for Ajax Amsterdam as they stunned Barcelona with a 2-1 win in the UEFA Champions League - with the South African scoring the opening goal. He then went on to feature on Sunday as Ajax cruised to a comfortable win over ADO Den Haag.

In England, Bongani Khumalo and Dean Furman continued as key players for Doncaster Rovers as they secured a 2-1 win over QPR on Saturday, with both Bafana players featuring in the game.

Anele Ngcongca enjoyed a good week with wins in the Europa League and domestically, while Kagisho Dikgacoi played in Crystal Palace's 1-0 loss to Norwich.

Kgosi Ntlhe (Peterborough United, England): Played in Tuesday’s 3-2 away loss to Brentford and in Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. 15 starts, four sub appearances. Team Position: 3/24

Ricardo Nunes (Zilina, Slovakia): Played in Saturday’s 3-1 home loss to Senica. 10 starts, three sub appearances. Team Position: 10/12

Ayanda Patosi (Lokeren, Belgium): Came on after 75 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 away loss to Mons. Six starts, six sub appearances, one goal. Team Position: 7/16

Tokelo Rantie (Bournemouth, England): Came off after 67 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Brighton & Hove Albion. 10 starts, one sub appearance, one goal. Team Position: 17/24 (transferred from Malmo, Sweden – 23 starts, five sub appearances, 10 goals)
