Following his side’s 2-1 loss to Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership match on Saturday night, Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese felt his side could have exploited Josta Dladla more.
Dladla was filling in a right back following an injury to Siboniso Gaxa, and coach Freese felt his side did not make enough use of his inexperience in that position.
“I don’t think we were going forward enough down our wings and we kept retreating back into our own half instead of pushing into the opposition half and putting them under pressure,” said Freese.
“Josta (Dladla) is not a right-back, but we didn’t exploit that, we didn’t push him hard enough to make mistakes, and (Keegan) Ritchie was the same.”
Stars are in action again in a second leg MTN8 semifinal against Bidvest Wits on Tuesday, and looking ahead to that game Freese said they will regroup quickly and aim to get back to winning ways.
“We don’t like to lose, nobody likes to lose,” added Freese.
“Now we will sit down and look at our mistakes and where we went wrong and we have to fix them quickly because the next game is the MTN8 on Tuesday, so we will have to regroup and look forward to it.”
