Maritzburg United goalkeeper Shu-Aib Walters was named Man of the Match for some outstanding saves despite their 2-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
The shot-stopper pulled off a series of important saves to prevent Amakhosi from running riot but in the end he was beaten by Knowledge Musona and George Lebese.
Walters says that the arrival of former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Arthur Bartman in a coaching capacity has helped him raise the bar.
"I think my mental state has changed this season. Obviously with the likes of Arthur Bartman, I'm on a different level. I think I've improved," he said.
"It's sad that I had to work so hard, but at the end of the day I think they created enough chances to win the game.
"Arthur told me before the game that I was going to work hard . I knew it. It was just, ja, a bit of luck there with the post and falling for Musona (for the first goal). And then a reaction save with the second goal, and luckily (for them) Lebese was there.
"But yes, I think we will improve. We just need to get a little more solid in defence and we will improve."
