Orlando Pirates coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, has welcomed the Nedbank Cup draw that sees Bucs take on Maritzburg United in the semi-final.
Commenting after the draw at the PSL offices today, Vermezovic said the fact that Bucs will take on United in a league match on Tuesday, “is a perfect opportunity to study them for the Nedbank Cup semi-final match.”
“We are playing them here tomorrow and that is okay... We will obviously have our focus on this match first before we start thinking of going to Maritzburg and play them in the semi-final,” Vermezovic told the official Pirates website.
“I think our players are always comfortable playing away in Durban, there won’t be much of a problem. Tomorrow's match for us is the next biggest thing and if we do well, we will still have another three or four matches before we go play United in the semi-final. We will not do anything different for that match,” added Vermezovic.
With Pirates having missed out on three trophies (MTN8, Telkom Knockout, and CAF Champions League) already, Vermezovic said Bucs have a plan for the Nedbank Cup
“We missed already three trophies, so for this one, we will have to plan well and see if we can win it,” concluded Vermezovic.
The dates and venues for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals will be announced at a later stage.
