University of Pretoria have handed Sifiso Vilakazi a one-week trial, as Steve Barker and his technical team look to strengthen the side’s striking department for the new season.
Vilakazi is in search of a new club after parting ways with AmaZulu at the end of last season, while Tuks are in need of strikers after releasing David Radebe, Dumisani Ngwenya and Thokozani Sekotlong at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
Vilakazi confirmed to the Siya crew that he started training with the side on Monday morning. “I started training with the club this morning. They called me. I’m doing my best. The training was fine,” said Vilakazi.
Still with Tuks, Malawian Russell Mwafulirwa also trained with the Tshwane-based outfit today. Mwafulirwa has been targeting a move back to the PSL for some time.
The 30-year-old played for Jomo Cosmos and Ajax Cape Town in the PSL, before making a move to IFK Norrkoping of Sweden in 2008.
