Vilakazi Impresses For Brondby

Talented Wits central midfielder, Sibusiso Vilakazi, believes he did more than enough to impress while on trial at Brondby recently.

The 24-year-old spent a week with the Danish giants, and even played in a reserve team match against a side called Viborg. This was despite having just arrived in Denmark following a long haul international flight from South Africa.

However, the Soweto-born star is confident he really turned on the style in his trial game, and believes he could've done more than enough to earn himself a deal with the 10-time Danish champions.

It's expected that if any deal does go through, it will happen at the end of this season when the transfer window re-opens. A transfer fee is likely to be involved as the versatile midfielder is contracted to Wits until June 2015.

Nonetheless, Vilakazi explained to the Siya crew why he was confident that he made an impression for the Boys from the Western Outskirts.

He said, "I found they were more tactical. I think the PSL's pace is quite fast compared to them. The team we played against were playing more high balls, you know. Brondby were trying to play the ball out from the back - they like to pass the ball. I surprised myself because I thought I did very well. When I came there, I wasn't supposed to play. I came straight from my flight and played a match. Hopefully I played well enough to get a contract with them. I had three chances to score and I also made an assist for a goal we scored. I think they were happy and impressed with the performance I gave. Look, Brondby is a big team and Denmark has a very competitive league. I'd be very grateful to go there."

It's expected that Wits' Chief Executive Officer, Jose Ferreira, will lead future negotiations in order for any deal to become a reality. The crew will monitor developments.
