Some positive news reaching the Siya crew for Maritzburg United fans is that talented midfielder, Nhlanhla Vilakazi, is close to making his full return to match fitness.
The 26-year-old was injured during pre-season, and has not kicked a ball in anger in the PSL for the club since signing from Ajax Cape Town. The player has also suffered a number of unfortunate setbacks in his battle with his knee injury, however it now seems he's well on the road to recovery.
It's expected that the Wattville-born player will give the Team of Choice some added cutting edge around the final third when he does return. United's Commercial Manager, Younus Kadodia, confirmed that Vilakazi was close to returning to full match fitness.
He said, "He recently resumed training with the rest of the guys in the squad. We hope to have him back to 100% soon. He's currently at about 80% but we think he'll be ready to return to full action in a couple of weeks."
