Maritzburg United have been dealt an early blow in the PSL campaign, with newly signed midfielder, Nhlanhla Vilakazi, facing a spell on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old signed a pre-contract with the Team of Choice back in January and began training with them when they began preseason last month, however it seems that he will not get the start he would have wanted to his Team of Choice career.
Vilakazi has had to undergo knee surgery after sustaining an injury in preseason and could be out for up to two months.
Meanwhile, head coach Ernst Middendorp says that the club is still on the lookout for new signings, especially after Vilkazi’s injury.
He told the club’s official website, “We are definitely keeping our eyes open to possible new signings. We have a few weeks still so we will probably be going into the market looking for one or two possibilities.
“We probably have to make it happen specially now that we know that Vilakazi will take some time to recover."
