The Siya crew can confirm that Ajax Cape Town striker, Ndumiso Vezi,is slowly making recovery following an injury he sustained after being involved in a car accident in May last year.
The Durban-born player was hit by a car while returning home after visiting a friend. He suffered injuries to his leg and arm.
Vezi told the Siya crew, “I am feeling strong. I have been working hard in the gym and started training hard to get back to fitness. I want to try and get back to playing very soon and finish the season strong with Ajax,” Said Vezi.
The 21-year-old has only played a handful of games for the Urban Warriors this season, however has looked promising in the matches that he has featured in.
The Siya crew contacted Ajax Media and Communications officer, Mark Meyer, who confirmed that the player is indeed being assessed by the medical team.
“He hasn’t actually returned to training, he’s being assessed by the medical team and might be out in the field to do few weeks to recover but he’s not training with the team or full training yet. He’s showing signs of improvement and recovery. We will have to wait for the coach to come back then we can confirm whether the player will be back to train with the team or possibly be in the coaches’ plans for the next round,” said Meyer.
