IFK Varnamo have offered South African midfielder, Phatizwe Sacolo, a new three-year deal at the club, although he is still weighing up his options.
The 22-year-old signed a short-term contract with the club earlier this year, going on to help them avoid relegation from Sweden’s Superettan.
The central midfielder, who is often deployed as a winger, has now been asked to remain with Varnamo, who have offered him a three-year contract, although the Siya crew are informed that he also has interest from America’s MLS.
Sacolo, who grew up playing for Wits’ youth team, left South Africa after being offered a scholarship in the United States at the University of Maine, and is believed to be a target for both Chicago Fire and Sporting Kansas.
The crew will continue to keep tabs on the midfielder’s situation, although it is thought that his main priority is to remain abroad and not return to South Africa just yet.
