Another Uruguayan striker has been linked with a club in Gauteng, during this transfer window, following the signing of Mauricio Affonso by Mamelodi Sundowns during the off-season.
News reaching the Siya crew is that Uruguay striker Martin Bueno has become a target for SuperSport United, who are in search of more players to add to Kaitano Tembo’s team, as part of the plan to improve the club’s results in the upcoming matches.
Bueno, 28, arrived in Mzansi during the off-season to train with Polokwane City, as revealed by the Siya crew.
The forward has since left the Limpopo-based outfit without the deal he was looking for, and indications are that Matsatsantsa are keen on giving him a chance to impress them and earn himself a PSL deal.
Bueno will hope to have his name added to the list of South American players to have played for clubs in Mzansi’s top flight in recent years, which include Leonardo Castro (Colombia) and Gustavo Paez (Venezuela), among others.
