Two months after the Siya crew broke the news of an alleged R2-million fraud scandal at one of the top flight clubs, the accused has provided an update.

Sello Chokoe was suspended by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in December with immediate effect after the club fingered him – as its CEO, for money that went missing.
According to the charge sheet, which was seen by the Siya crew, Chokoe was to face an internal hearing on December 11 and his only comment at the time was that he had received the notice and would defend himself accordingly.
With TTM yet again dominating headlines following a change of ownership, businessman Abram Sello taking over from Masala Mulaudzi, the fraud charges are still hovering over Chokoe’s head like a dark cloud.
“The first two available dates had to be postponed because I was not feeling well and produced a sick note,” he revealed to the Siya crew this week.
“As things stand I have not been told of a new date and as you can imagine, things are moving quickly from the club’s side. It is for the club to communicate the next step in this process because they brought the charges, not me. I have not been found guilty of anything, and that remains crucial even though the club appointed a new CEO early this year, which, I must admit, took me by surprise.”

Chokoe confirms that he will have a legal team in his corner if furnished with a new date for a hearing as these are serious charges.
TTM is one of three clubs on a paltry nine points after 14 matches and rooted to the bottom of the DStv Premiership table.
