There has been an update on Patrick Phungwayo and court matters, following the player’s arrest last week.
The former Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates defender is still behind bars after he was arrested on Tuesday last week.
Following his latest appearance in court on Monday, it has been confirmed to the Siya crew that the 33-year-old will remain behind bars and is set to appear again on Thursday for formal bail application.
According to sources close to the police, the left-back is expected to be granted bail this week to be a free man again after a difficult few days.
Phungwayo was arrested for alleged house breaking and he made his first court appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
“He is set to appear in court again on Thursday for formal bail application and is likely to be granted bail,” said the source.
