AmaTuks midfielder Mpho Maruping will face the surgeon's knife today to repair a fractured eye socket sustained in training over the weekend.
Maruping was injured during a training match for Steve Barker's team on Saturday, when the ball struck him in the face.
It is estimated that the injury will take around six weeks for for the former Amajita player to recover, and the Pretoria side will hope that he has recovered by the start of the 2014/2015 PSL season.
The 23-year-old, who grew up in the Thembisa township, made 17 appearances for the University of Pretoria in the PSL in the 2013/2014 season.
