University of Pretoria coach, Steve Barker, told the Siya crew that the club will definitely introduce new faces next season.
This revelation comes at the back of the departure of four players after the club didn’t renew their contracts. Players like Warren Bishop, Dipsy Selolwane, Ayo Oluwafemi, Lantshene Phalane and Charly Moussono-Moussono were all victims.
However, the on-loan player from Platinum Stars, Phalane, is rumoured to be on the verge of staying permanently.
Speaking to the crew, coach Steve Barker, said there will be new faces in his team next season but he refused to divulge names.
“Yes we have parted ways with the players you’ve just mentioned, we didn’t renew their contracts. There will be new additions definitely, we need to be strong in some positions. In our first season we released 18 players and at this stage we’re looking to replace with four to five players. Yea we’ll introduce new faces but we’re not buying because we have a good scouting network.
“I’m looking forward to the new players joining us as you know we’ve lost some players. There’s nothing new with Raymond Monama at this stage but we met with Mamelodi Sundowns a week-and-a half ago and we’ll probably meet again in the next two weeks. We’re also speaking to Tebza Monyai in the next two weeks and we’ll see in which capacity will he help the club,” added Barker.
