The University of Pretoria are reportedly chasing Baroka FC captain, Gift Motupa.
In the latest edition of Soccer Laduma (issue 874) , the crew reported that the 19 year-old has been a long-term target for the club, however, the player's price has been placed at R3m, which could scare off Tuks.
A source close to the crew revealed that the player could be on his way to the PSL club, but ruled out the possibility of Tuks agreeing on the R3 million price tag.
The player’s agent, Abbie Rasimphi, of Liberate Resources Sports Management said he’s not aware of the price tag, but that there are talks between the clubs for the services of Motupa.
“Yes, there are talks currently going on between the two clubs. I cannot tell about the price tag, but all I know is that Baroka are talking to Tuks and we’ll see what they agree on. There’s a possibility that we could see the player in the PSL for Tuks, but that depends on the talks,” said Mothopa.
Motupa was also previously linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, and it’s not clear whether he could choose the Chloorkop-based side over AmaTuks, should they renew their interest.
The crew will monitor the situation and keep you abreast of developments.
