The future of Wits winger, Bhongolwethu Jayiya, seems yet to be decided after Maritzburg United confirmed they were yet to hold talks with the Clever Boys about the player's situation.
Jayiya spent a largely successful six months with United on loan, and it appears the Team of Choice are interested in potentially acquiring his services on a permanent deal. The 23-year-old bagged four goals in 14 league appearances as Steve Komphela's men finished the season strongly.
However, the Soweto-born star could be kept by Wits who have a one year option on his current deal which expires in June. Nonetheless, United are keen to engage in further talks with Wits about potentially securing the player's services on a permanent move.
Maritzburg Team Manager, Quintin Jettoo, said, "The Jayiya situation is not clear. He was on loan with us from Wits for six months. The player will return to that club when they get back to training. When he does return then we'll all have a discussion about it. Ultimately we have to wait because he has to go back to his club first. Wits will guide us because he is their player and after that they'll take it from there."
